SYNOPSIS
Depression and alcoholism have left Brian’s daughter (Amanda) dependent on him for her son’s welfare. However, when Brian’s wife dies, he gives the young boy into social care. Amanda’s world falls apart and she doesn’t speak to Brian for 15 years. That is until she gathers the strength to finally visit him.

‘Sick’ is the first film from new writer/director Mike Rymer, and sees him build on his grass roots industry experience. He is a postgraduate of the Skillset Screen Academy in Wales, and recently served as an assistant director to Peter Greenaway on “Nightwatching.” He hopes “Sick” will bring him further directing opportunities. |

SYNOPSIS
“Stations” is a story of dysfunctional relationships; of characters who are emotionally detached and unable to fit into the world around them.
The film is a character driven narrative and structured as a triptych. It is focused on the lives of three sets of disparate characters, who intersect one particular day in a city. In each story, the characters are somehow involved in infidelities or an emotional ‘triangle’. The connections between these characters may be fleeting but are very passionate.

Emmanuel Quindío Palo is from Manila, Philippines. He received a postgraduate diploma in film and television at the Film and Television Institute of India in Pune. The short films he directed at the institute have won prizes at various film festivals in India and internationally. |

SYNOPSIS

THE FILMMAKER
Herve Demers, born in 1982 in Quebec City, Canada, took a multidisciplinary approach to the course of his academic career. He began by studying pictorial and media related arts in college and then acquired a customised university degree that allowed him to explore the various facets of modern aesthetics, including visual arts, literature, film, visual communication, acoustic arts, history of photography, music and art history. In 2005, he undertook the production and direction of an ambitious first film, a short work entitled “Sur La Terre Comme Au Ciel.” |

SYNOPSIS
“The Harvester” is a 3D computer animated film inspired by a wide range of films, animations and computer games. It is rendered in a 2D painterly style similar to shadow theatre and silhouette animation. The story revolves around a cartoony humanoid creature, the harvester, who enters into a magical forest to collect fruit. However, the harvester is chased by the spirits of the trees when he tries to collect the fruit. He ignores their warning and is eventually punished by the forest itself.

Chain smoker Billy Johnson is not allowed to smoke in his office, but he can’t resist, and attempts to smoke during working hours. This short animation revolves around the fight between his conscious and subconscious to smoke secretly.
THE FILMMAKERS
Huda Nasir developed an interest in animation during her bachelors when she made an online website as a term project. She began taking it seriously, and took some short courses in web designing and Flash. To pursue in-depth knowledge and polish her skills she did her masters in multimedia arts. “The Irresistible” is her first attempt in making a short film in 3-D.
Jamil Nasir’s interest in animation began with drawing in school, leading him towards calligraphy and finally to NCA as a student of multimedia arts. Currently he is in his final year of a masters degree program. |

SYNOPSIS
“The Lamp” is an animated film inspired by the idea and emotional direction of “The Truman Show.” The film tells the story of a light-keeper. The main character of the film is unaware of what it is that he is a part of. He has perhaps forgotten or he never knew the purpose of his work. In the final shot of the film it is revealed the light keeper is responsible for the maintenance of “light-art” on the surface of the moon.
