SYNOPSIS

THE FILMMAKERS
Lilí Cabrera was born in Colombia into a family of film directors. From a very young age she acted in several television series, until she discovered her passion lay behind the camera. She moved to Spain in 2000, where she took courses in scripting, direction and photography. She’s currently in her second year at ECAM, the official school of Cinema in Madrid.
Valerio Veneras was born in Santander in 1975. He was drawn to cinema from childhood, spending numerous hours in front of the television. “El Espejo” is his directorial debut. |

SYNOPSIS
In the mountains of Macedonia, a couple live peacefully together. He ploughs the fields; she takes care of the household. They are truly happy and in love, expecting their first child. The beauty, tranquillity and happiness of this family is shattered one day when a jeep comes over the hill and tears away the expectant father to go fight for his country. As years go by the son, now a grown man with his own family, is also visited by a jeep and taken to fight.

SYNOPSIS
‘Good Night’ is the story of Madan Mohan Khullar, a lover of old Hindi films and music, who has decided to start his life afresh. As the night unfolds, and echoes with a forgotten melody, the mundane details of Khullar’s life acquire a nostalgic significance.

Born and brought up in Delhi, Geetika Narang pursued advertising after completing her graduation in English Literature from Delhi University. Hailing from a family of mostly engineers and teachers, her passion for cinema was not an easily accepted choice, but her grit, or perhaps the magic of films, pulled her through. SYNOPSIS
Based on a short story by Saadat Hasan Manto, the film depicts the dilemma of a Muslim family in Amritsar during partition riots. While most Muslim families are migrating to Pakistan, Mian Sahab, a retired judge, refuses to do so, despite pleas from his children. He has full faith in his friend Gurmukh Singh, a neighbourhood elder respected by all. But increasing violence begins to weaken Mian Sahab’s resolve to stay.

Sharjil Baloch has been working as a freelance director since 2001. He has directed a number of documentaries and plays. He also acts and writes. His first documentary “Ki Jana Main Kuan” was screened at the 4th KaraFilm Festival; “Das Rupay”, a short film, was shown at the 5th KaraFilm Festival and “Pervaz”, also a short film, was screened at the 6th KaraFilm Festival. Sharjil works for the Dastak Society for Communication and Beyond Borders as a film director. Since August 2007 Sharjil has been working as a Video Producer with BBC Pakistan. |
