Synopsis
A cynic and a positivist watch a lunar eclipse from a rooftop. As the moon is engulfed by the shadow of the earth, the cynic begins to question the foundations of his existence. The positivist is not shaken by the temporary absence of light because she can make her own. Their conversation touches upon yesterday, today and the idea that Pakistanis must balance energy and introspection to create a worthwhile tomorrow.
About the Filmmaker
Maheen Zia studied film and television at Drake University, USA, and now teaches film at the Visual Studies department of Karachi University. She is the editor of Pakistan’s first digital feature, “Raat Chali Hai Jhoom Ke” and has directed several shorts and documentaries. Maheen’s film “Lyari Expressway” on the displacement of several communities as a result of a mammoth road project, was screened at the 3rd KaraFilm Festival.
